Your Questions About 3d Printers For Sale

John asks…

Large format net prints?

I am currently in my Final Major Project in my National Diploma of Graphic Design. At the end of the project we are having an exhibition in a public space. My project consists of 3d character nets that are basically desk tidies. (lolololol)
And for the exhibition I would like a larger scale of the nets that would be about hip height. I have considered using a local large format printer to print them and I would just double mount them onto layers of card to keep it sturdy (otherwise the paper would sag and bend). But I am curious If I can get this net printed onto something such card board, as if it was a Point of Sale in a shop. For professionalism of course instead of just a flimsy sagging paper model.

So my question is, Is it possible to get my nets printed onto a tougher, larger scale? If so, where!?
:D Thanks,

I would assume a place which does screen printing could print directly onto cardboard. But I would think it’s cheaper and easier to print it on large format and then glue the printout to the cardboard. There are spray glues which should give you as good results than if it’s printed directly onto cardboard.
If you are willing to spend a little more money I probably would use foam core board. If you use brown corrugated cardboard you probably would need to spraypaint the cardboard in whatever color you want the final object to be, as depending on the quality of your paper the brown color would show through.

But you shouldn’t have any problem doing it either way and being able to make it look professional.
